Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information TACIBO collects when you use the app or this website, how it's used, and the choices you have. TACIBO is a small, independently-run product — if anything here is unclear, email [email protected] and a real person will answer.

Information we collect

We collect information in three ways: what you give us directly, what's generated by using the app, and what comes from services we rely on to run it.

• Account information — your email address and, if you sign in with Google, the name and profile details Google shares with us. A password if you sign up with email instead.
• Content you create — recipes you write or import, photos and videos you upload, tags, notes, and any text on your creator profile.
• Content you save or import — recipes you save from other users, and recipes you import via a pasted link or a photo of a physical recipe (see "Imported recipes" below for how this content is treated).
• Family and social connections — who you've added as family, who you follow, and who follows you.
• Usage data — which recipes you view, save, or like, used to rank the Discover feed and to keep the app working correctly. This includes a simple count of when a recipe is viewed, recorded directly by us (not shared with any third party) so creators and future advertisers can see real, honest numbers for recipes and pages — see "Recipe view counts" below.
• Analytics data — general usage and device information (e.g. which screens are used, approximate location from IP address, device/browser type) collected via Google Analytics on the app and website. See "Third-party services" below.
• Optional demographic information — age range and country, if you choose to enter them in your account settings. Private, self-reported, never shown on your public profile, and never shared outside TACIBO — used only in aggregate (e.g. "most of our audience is 25–34") to describe our audience to creators and advertisers.
• Payment information (creators only, once monetization is live) — handled directly by Stripe, our payment processor. TACIBO does not store your full card or bank details.

Recipe view counts

Each time a recipe is opened, we record a lightweight, first-party count of that view — separate from, and not shared with, Google Analytics or any other outside service. A creator can see the view count for their own recipes; nobody, including the creator, can see who viewed a recipe or when. We use aggregate view counts to build reporting for creators and, eventually, for advertisers considering a sponsorship on TACIBO.

How we use your information

• To operate your cookbook, family sharing, and the Discover feed.
• To rank public recipes in Discover based on saves, likes, and engagement.
• To process creator payouts, once creator monetization is live, via Stripe Connect.
• To communicate with you about your account, and, if you opt in, about product updates.
• To understand overall usage of the app and website through Google Analytics, so we can improve them.
• To keep the app secure and to enforce these policies and our Terms of Service.

We do not use your recipe content to train third-party AI models.

Imported recipes and public sharing

Every recipe you upload — written by you or imported from elsewhere — defaults to private and is visible only to you (and your family, if you've added any). You choose, recipe by recipe, whether to make something public.

A recipe imported from someone else's website or a photo of someone else's cookbook can be kept privately in your own cookbook, the same way a bookmark or a clipped recipe card works. It cannot be published to the public Discover feed as-is, because the original photo and written text are usually protected by copyright even though the bare ingredient list generally isn't. Making an imported recipe public requires either that you're the original creator, or a version with the source's images and original wording removed. This restriction is enforced by the app, not just stated here.

Third-party services we use

TACIBO is built on a small set of infrastructure providers, each of which processes data on our behalf under their own privacy and security practices:

• Supabase — database, file storage, and authentication.
• Google Sign-In — optional account sign-in, if you choose it over email/password.
• Google Analytics — usage analytics on the app and website. Google's own privacy policy governs how it handles this data: policies.google.com/privacy.
• Stripe / Stripe Connect — payment processing and creator payouts, once monetization is live.

Your choices

• You can edit or delete any recipe, photo, or note you've uploaded at any time from within the app.
• You can make a public recipe private again at any time.
• You can request a full export or deletion of your account and associated data by emailing [email protected].
• Age range and country are entirely optional — you can leave them blank, fill them in, or clear them at any time from your account settings.

Children's privacy

TACIBO is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a material way, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where required, notify you directly.
